A Multi-point Detection System with Addressable Elec- Trode Array Device Incorporated with Ida Electrodes

ABSTRACT In this study, we developed a novel device consisting of 32 row and 32 column electrodes on a single chip for highthroughput electrochemical detection. The row and column electrodes were orthogonally arranged and connected to interdigitated array (IDA) electrodes at individual crossing points to form 1024 (32 × 32) sensor points. Electrochemical responses from each of the 1024 sensors were acquired using redox cycling at individual IDA electrodes. Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity were successfully detected using the device. The device is a high-throughput lab-on-a-chip tool for applications such as enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), reporter gene assay for monitoring gene expressions.
